Unassisted goals by
Yefferson Hernandez and
Cohen Crosil pushed Mary Baldwin the men's soccer team to its first lead of the season and helped the Fighting Squirrels finish with a 2-2 draw against non-conference rival Randolph College Wednesday.
Randolph's Corey Williams opened the scoring in the 16th minute of the match, but the hosts evened the score later in the first half with Hernandez's first goal of the season, the seventh of his career. Â
In the second half, Crosil found the back of the net for the first time in his career to give MBU the lead of the season in the 50th minute. Randolph's Trace Dockman converted a corner kick in the 83rd minute to finish the scoring. Â
MBU sophomore
Preston Bentley was credited with four saves on 12 Randolph attempts, including six on goal. Â
MBU, now 0-3-1, returns to action Friday with a road match at Ferrum College, beginning at 7 p.m.
