Alexis Edmonds registered team-highs of seven kills and a .357 hitting percentage in Tuesday's 3-0 non-conference volleyball loss against visiting NCAA Division II rival Virginia Union.
The Fighting Squirrels struggled out of the gate, losing the first set 25-7, before challenging the Panthers in the next two sets. In both the second and third sets, MBU was with reach before falling 25-19 and 25-23.
Joining Edmonds on the attack were sophomore Brooklyn Prince with six kills and two service aces, and senior Sol Rios Rolon, who recorded 17 of the team's 20 assists and added four digs.
The Fighting Squirrels return to action Thursday (9/12) with a trip south on I-81 to visit non-conference foe Hollins (6:30 p.m.).
