Harmony Crawford contributed a goal and an assist within eight minutes early in the second half as the women's soccer team finished with a 2-2 draw against non-conference rival Averett Friday at SMA Worth Field.
After a scoreless first half, Averett's Hailey Juhasz found the back of the net for an unassisted goal in the 50th minute of the match. Just 22 seconds later Crawford assisted on the first career goal of freshman
Alma Gonzalez-Hayes to even the match. It was Crawford's first assist of the season and third of her career.
Crawford gave MBU the lead eight minutes later with an unassisted goal, her second score of 2024 and third of her career. Five minutes later, Averett's Abigail Poole evened the match with an unassisted tally, and neither team could break the tie in the final 25 minutes of play.

The Fighting Squirrels (1-3-1) Wednesday (9/18) with a 4 p.m. match at Eastern Mennonite, then return to SMA Worth Field to begin USA South conference play on Saturday (9/21) against William Peace (2 p.m.).
