The Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels Men's Soccer team rallies late but falls just short in 2-1 while hosting the Wilson College Phoenix. Wilson scored twice in the first half, but Mary Baldwin answered too late in the second half with a 2-1 loss against the Phoenix.
Mary Baldwin had better shots with a 16-7 split, but the Wilson keeper ensured that they missed the net. The late game goal was scored by team captain #14
Edward Headley with the assist by #18 Connor Dobbin. Although the corner kicks were split with each team at 9-9, the Phoenix were able to capitalize on them more resulting in a loss for the Fighting Squirrels.
Mary Baldwin Men's soccer returns to SMA field as they host Randolph College on Wednesday, 9/11 at 4:30 in the afternoon. The game will be proceeded with a 9/11 memorial from VWIL.
