The Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels ended their losing streak in decisive fashion with a 4–1 victory over Pfeiffer on Saturday. All four of the Squirrels' goals came in a dominant first half.
Senior
Mackenzie Shores opened the scoring in the fourth minute with her seventh goal of the season. Pfeiffer's Quinn Branca equalized in the 10th minute, but Mary Baldwin quickly regained control. Sophomore
Kendall Carr put the Squirrels back in front in the 16th minute, and fellow freshman
Addison Hannigan extended the lead to 3–1 just three minutes later. Freshman
Joelle Hare capped the scoring in the 22nd minute, securing the win.
Mary Baldwin will play their first playoff game on November 1, with the time and opponent still to be announced. The Fighting Squirrels will close out the regular season at home against Southern Virginia on Wednesday, October 29, at 3:30 p.m.
