The USA South Atlantic Conference has released its men's and women's cross country pre-championship poll.
The 2025 championship races will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, at Pfeiffer University in Meisenheimer, N.C. The women's race begins at 10 a.m., followed by the men's race at 11 a.m.
The Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels were ranked fifth out of seven teams. Junior
Daniel Diaczyszyn will look to improve on his 33:32.5 finish from last year's championship. Also competing for the men's team will be seniors Tristan Bannasch,
Brandon Jones and David Schultz, juniors
Micah Ahearn-Wood and Caleb Smith and freshman
Tajee Groomes
On the women's side, Mary Baldwin will not field enough runners to record a team score, but sophomore Nicky Black will look to defend her title as USA South Atlantic champion. In 2024, Black ran 23:17.0 to win the individual championship, earning Runner of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and All-Conference First Team honors.
