Greensboro's Abby Lush scored a pair of goals within an eight minute span late in the second half to lift the host Pride (7-4-2, 2-2-0 USA South) to a 2-1 come-from-behind USA South women's soccer victory over Mary Baldwin (9-2-1, 4-1-0 USA South) Tuesday.
Mackenzie Shores put the Fighting Squirrels on top in the 40th minute of the first half, working her way through the Greensboro defense on the left side of the goal before sliding the ball into the net under the Pride goalkeeper for her fifth goal of the season.Â
MBU was strong in the first half, but the hosts controlled the ball for much of the second half. Each team finished with seven shots on goal.Â
Amelia Cross was credited with five saves in goal for the Fighting Squirrels.
The decision snapped a five-game win streak and a 10-game unbeaten run for the Fighting Squirrels who return to action Saturday (10/11) at Brevard, beginning at 11 a.m.
