Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels Baseball hosted the Ferrum College Panthers for a single non-conference contest in Grottoes, VA. After capitalizing on an error in the top of the first inning, the Panthers were able to go up by 1 run at the start of the game. Mary Baldwin then answered with 3 runs in the bottom of the second inning to go up early 3-1 thanks to an opportune line drive from freshman #20

Trevor Hebner. The Fighting Squirrels baseball was unable to keep up with their soon to be Division II counterparts and gave up the lead in the 5th inning that digressed from there with the final being a 24-5 victory for the Panthers over the Fighting Squirrels.

Wesley Strychowski made the best of his opportunity as he collected 2 hits in his two plate appearances on the day. Freshman #31 Miguel Farjardo collected his first hit in his Mary Baldwin career with a solid double down the line to score Strychowski. Freshman #26
Logan Roop also achieved his first hit of the season and later scored thanks to some solid heads up baseball running. The Fighting Squirrels collected a respectable 11 hits throughout the contest with #29 Kelly Hackley also having a multi-hit game with #2

Mary Baldwin Baseball travels to face the Greensboro College Pride in a three game this weekend for their first USA South Athletic Conference match up with one game on Friday, 3/14 and a doubleheader on Saturday 3/15. Their next home game is against Bridgewater College next Tueday, 3/18 @4:00.
