The Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels baseball team traveled to face the Greensboro College Pride today for their first USA Conference match-up of the season. Both of the pitchers in today's match up, #7
Cody Hoffer for Mary Baldwin and #16 Ian Bast for Greensboro, worked well on the mound as there were only two runs total in the first two innings of the contest. It wasn't until the second half of the game that the offense opened up with Greensboro scoring five runs in the fifth inning. After a calmer final couple innings of the game, Mary Baldwin was unable to make a comeback resulting in a 1-10 loss in Greensboro's favor.

Cody Hoffer took the lead today for Mary Baldwin's pitching as he went four inning with only allowing two runs over nineteen batters faces. Through those, he recorded two strikeouts while only giving up one walk. Mary Baldwin's offense recorded seven hits throughout today's contest. #29

Joe Norman stayed patient at the plate as they each recorded two walks in their at bats today with Michael recording a hit and Norman recording an RBI as well.Â
Today was the first of a three game series for the Fighting Squirrels baseball team against the Pride with their next two games coming in a double header tomorrow, 3/15 at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. After that, they host Bridgetwater College on Tuesday, 3/18 at 4:00 pm before traveling again to face the Washington and Lee Generals on Thursday, 3/20 with a game time at 5:00 pm.
