The Mary Baldwin University Fighting Squirrels Baseball hosted the William Peace Pacers for their second conference series of the 2025 season. The game started with three unanswered runs from the Pacers to start the game when the Fighting Squirrels had an offensive surge in the bottom of the 3rd innings making the score 3-2. Things quieted down in the game until William Peace capitalized on a couple of hits in the 5th innings and a timely home run in the 6th that they started to run away with the lead. Despite a late 3-run rally to cut the lead down in the 7th, the Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels were unable to catch the William Peace Pacers as they took the first game in the three game series with a 10-5 Pacers win. Three unfortunate double plays hindered the Mary Baldwin offensive today. The Pacers were able to capitalize on three errors resulting in three unearned runs.

Mary Baldwin Baseball continues their homestead against William Peace with a double header tomorrow, 3/23 wit game times at 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Following that, they host the Roanoke College Maroons on Wednesday 3/26 at 4:00 pm.
