The Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels stretched their winning streak to four games with a decisive 5–1 win over Eastern Mennonite University.
Freshman standouts
Molly Ludwig and
Addison Hannigan accounted for four of the five goals. The scoring opened with an own goal by the Royals before Ludwig struck in the 27th minute, slipping the ball past the keeper into the bottom corner.
Hannigan then added back-to-back goals in the 30th and 41st minutes, bringing her season total to three. Ludwig sealed the match in the 87th minute with her second goal of the night.
With this victory, Mary Baldwin has already matched their total wins from the previous two seasons—just five games into the year. The current four-game streak is the program's longest since 2015.
The Fighting Squirrels will look to keep their momentum rolling at home on Wednesday, September 17, against Wilson College. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
