The Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels won their third straight match, sweeping the Sweet Briar Vixens 25–5, 25–2, 25–9.
Freshman
Naomi Lucas turned in a perfect performance, recording six kills on six attempts to lead the way. The Fighting Squirrels overpowered the Vixens' defense with 28 total kills and were dominant from the service line, racking up 24 aces. Freshman
Kathryn Nguyen was especially impressive, accounting for 12 of those aces. Sophomore Libero
Alexa Ammerman had a strong showing on defense recording 12 digs in the match.
With the victory, Mary Baldwin notched their fifth win of the season — their most in a single year since 2008.
The Fighting Squirrels will look to continue their momentum when they face Brevard College on Saturday, September 20, at 2:00 p.m.
