Freshman
Molly Ludwig scored four times to lead Mary Baldwin to a dominant 6–0 victory over Christendom College on Wednesday.
The Fighting Squirrels wasted no time taking control, with Ludwig striking in the opening minute and again in the 10th to put Mary Baldwin ahead 2–0.
Sophomore
Alma Gonzalez-Hayes added her second goal of the season in the 18th minute, bending a free kick just under the crossbar. Ludwig completed her first-half hat trick in the 26th minute, sending Mary Baldwin into halftime with a commanding 4–0 lead.
In the second half, freshman
Joelle Hare extended the advantage with a goal in the 60th minute before Ludwig capped the scoring with her fourth of the day.
Through eight matches, Ludwig has tallied nine goals, ranking second in the USA South Conference. The Flying Squirrels extend their unbeaten streak to seven, the longest in 20 years for the program.
Mary Baldwin will host N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday, Sept. 27, in their conference opener. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
