The Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels men's basketball team fell to the University of Mary Washington, 96–49, Monday evening.
The Fighting Squirrels struggled to slow the Eagles' offense, as Mary Washington shot an efficient 58.7 percent from the field. Mary Baldwin trailed by 15 points at halftime, hampered by cold shooting
from beyond the arc after converting just one of 11 three-point attempts in the first half.
For the Eagles, Jadon Burgess led the offensive charge, scoring 13 of his game-high 18 points before halftime.
In the second half, senior
Corey Easton and freshman
Mason Wynne provided a spark off the bench for Mary Baldwin. Easton shot 67 percent from three-point range, while Wynne knocked down three three-pointers of his own.
The Fighting Squirrels will look to move past the loss as they return home to face Greensboro College on Wednesday, January 21, at 6:00 p.m.
