Mary Baldwin baseball suffered its second loss of the season, falling to Shenandoah University 13-3 on Wednesday afternoon.
Shenandoah's Michael Myers earned the win, allowing no hits and no runs. The Hornets jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the second inning and added eight runs in the fifth.
Carl Keenan put Shenandoah on the board in the first inning with a solo home run. The Hornets extended their lead in the second when Kyle Garrett hit a sacrifice fly that scored two runs.
Mary Baldwin broke through after two scoreless innings when junior
Conner Attard scored on a wild pitch.
In the seventh inning, senior
Isiah Brooks reached second on a fielder's choice, while junior
Caden Smith and senior
Dalton Hall scored the final two runs for the Fighting Squirrels.
Mary Baldwin will host its home opener Saturday, Feb. 21, against Penn State Altoona in a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
