Game Recap: Baseball |

Mary Baldwin Split first two games of Weekend Series

Mary Baldwin baseball split its home opener against Mount Aloysius College on Saturday afternoon, winning the first game 6-1 before falling 10-4 in the second game.

Game 1
Junior Lance Gowans pitched a complete game, allowing just one run.

Mary Baldwin's offense put pressure on the Mounties early, scoring four runs in the first two innings without leaving runners on base.

Senior Michael Muller opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly that brought home fellow senior Isiah Brooks. Freshman Patrick Sido later drove in senior Will Earnesty.

In the second inning, sophomore Conner Michael circled the bases following a fielding error, scoring alongside freshman Conner Attard to add two more runs.

Senior Trevor Hebner added insurance in the fifth inning with a solo home run to center field.

Game 2
Mary Baldwin carried that momentum into Game 2, building a 3-0 lead by the second inning.

Mount Aloysius capitalized on costly Mary Baldwin errors, scoring two runs in the third inning and six in the fifth. The fifth-inning surge was capped by a three-run home run from Owen McDermott.

The Mounties added two more runs in the final inning to secure the 10-4 victory.

Up Next
