Mary Baldwin baseball came up short in both games of a doubleheader against Brevard Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Squirrels dropped the first game 11-9 before falling 10-7 in the nightcap.
Game 1
Game one turned into a back-and-forth battle that ultimately swung Brevard's way late.
Brevard jumped out to an early 5-1 lead through the first two innings, but Mary Baldwin answered with a big fifth inning.

Will Earnesty singled to center field to score Brooks and extend the lead to 9-7.
Brevard responded in the ninth inning, scoring four runs to retake the lead. A two-RBI double from Nico Bartolotti tied the game before Davis Anders followed with a two-RBI single to give the Tornados an 11-9 advantage.

Game 2
The second game saw Brevard pull away late to complete the doubleheader sweep.
Brevard scored two runs in the opening inning, but Mary Baldwin answered quickly.
After tying the game in the first, Brooks delivered a two-run home run in the second inning to give the Fighting Squirrels a 4-2 lead.
The Tornados slowly chipped away before breaking the game open in the seventh inning with five runs. A two-run home run from Davis Anders highlighted the rally as Brevard took a 9-4 lead.

Jacob Barber added a two-RBI hit to cut the deficit to 9-7.
Brevard added an insurance run in the ninth inning and closed out the 10-7 victory.
Brooks finished with two RBIs in the game while Michael recorded three hits for the Fighting Squirrels.
