Mary Baldwin baseball fell at home to Roanoke College 21-1 on Wednesday evening.

The Fighting Squirrels scored their lone run in the first inning when senior Michael Muller hit a solo home run to center field, his first of the season.

Roanoke broke the game open with nine runs in the third inning to take a 10-1 lead.

The Maroons' bullpen, led by Ryan Wallace, held Mary Baldwin to five hits while striking out nine and allowing two walks.

The Fighting Squirrels struggled defensively, committing seven errors.

Mary Baldwin returns to action Saturday, March 28, at Methodist for a three-game conference series. Game one of Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m.
