Mary Baldwin Drops Doubleheader to Pfeiffer

Game 1

Mary Baldwin opened the doubleheader against Pfeiffer, scoring first in the top of the first inning. Junior Kendal Switala reached base and came around to score on an RBI single from freshman Dana Micone to give the Fighting Squirrels an early 1-0 lead.

Pfeiffer responded quickly in the bottom half of the inning, capitalizing on errors and timely hitting to take control of the game. The Falcons plated four runs in the first and continued to build their lead throughout the game, including a seven-run fourth inning.

Mary Baldwin was unable to regain momentum offensively, finishing with just one hit in the contest as Pfeiffer secured the 13-1 win.

Game 2

In Game 2, Pfeiffer again jumped out to an early lead, scoring four runs in the first inning and continuing to apply pressure with a strong offensive showing through the first three innings.

Despite the early deficit, the Fighting Squirrels found a bright spot in the fifth inning. Freshman Aliana Venegas Hawkins connected on her first collegiate home run, a two-run shot to left field that brought in freshman Jada Bolden and put Mary Baldwin on the board.
