Mary Washington defeated Mary Baldwin 14-4 on Wednesday, using a six-run fourth inning to pull away.
Mary Washington jumped out early, scoring three runs in the first inning behind a bases-clearing double from William Tuttle. Connor Hassan added a solo home run in the third to extend the lead.
The Eagles broke the game open in the fourth, scoring six runs on five hits, including a three-run home run from Hassan. Collin Clarkson added an RBI double in the inning as Mary Washington built a 10-0 advantage.
Mary Baldwin responded with four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Sophomore
Camden Bauswell drove in a run with a single, while seniorÂ
Trevor Hebner added an RBI single. Freshman
Conner Michael also drew a bases-loaded walk to cap the scoring.
Mary Washington added insurance late, scoring once in the sixth and three times in the seventh. Sean Smith highlighted the final inning with a solo home run.
