Mary Baldwin softball was swept in a doubleheader Wednesday against Greensboro, falling 10-0 in the first game and 7-1 in the second.
Game 1
In the opener, the Fighting Squirrels kept the game close through the first five innings. Sophomore pitcher
Jenna Shull got the start, going five innings and allowing two runs.
In the sixth, Greensboro found its rhythm at the plate, loading the bases. Three singles extended the lead to 5-0 before Anna Frazier hit a grand slam to clear the bases and stretch the advantage to 9-0.
Game 2
In the second game, Greensboro's offense carried its momentum, scoring three runs in the first inning. Peydon Reynolds singled to right field to drive in a run, and Erica Chaney added a two-run hit later in the inning.
After Greensboro added four runs in the fourth, freshman
Skylar Meriwether drove in Mary Baldwin's lone run with a single just out of the reach of the left fielder, scoring freshman
Cassidy Branch.

Mary Baldwin will travel to North Carolina to face North Carolina Wesleyan in a conference doubleheader. The first game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
