Mary Baldwin fell to Bridgewater 15-6 on the road Wednesday evening after the Eagles used a six-run first inning to take control.

The Fighting Squirrels struck first in the opening inning when freshman Noel Cano-Rocha singled to shortstop, scoring senior Camden Bauswell from third.

Bridgewater responded with six runs in the bottom of the first and added three more in the third to build a 9-1 lead.

Mary Baldwin answered in the fourth, trimming the deficit to six runs. Trailing 11-3 in the sixth, Bauswell hit a solo home run to left field, his first of the season. Later in the inning, freshman Cooper Harris singled to left, bringing home senior Jacob Barber to make it 11-5.

Mary Baldwin added its final run in the eighth, but Bridgewater answered in the bottom half with insurance runs, highlighted by a two-run home run from Ashton Smith.
