Men's Cross Country

Mary Baldwin posts program-best finish at conference cross-country championships

The Mary Baldwin men's and women's cross-country teams competed in the USA South Conference Championship this weekend.

Men's 8K

The Fighting Squirrels finished fourth in the men's 8K — the highest placement in program history.
Junior Micah Ahearn-Wood (31:41.4) and junior Daniel Diaczyszyn (31:49.1) led Mary Baldwin with 24th- and 25th-place finishes.
Senior David Schultz Jr. placed 30th in 33:29.8. Freshman Tajee Grooms (34:27.6), senior Brandon Jones (34:49.5) and senior Tristen Bannasch (34:50.3) followed, finishing 33rd, 34th and 35th. Jones and Bannasch set personal bests in the 8K.

Women's 6K

In the women's 6K, sophomore Nicky Black placed in the top 10, earning second-team All-Conference honors. It marks her second straight All-Conference selection.
Sophomore Ashley Bennett recorded a personal best, finishing in 28:16.9.
