Sophomore
Nicole Black was Mary Baldwin's top performer, finishing 14th overall, at the Shenandoah Invitational cross country meet Friday in Winchester, Va.
Black covered the 5K course in 20:54.4, finishing 14th out of 46 runners and seventh among NCAA Division III competitors. Posting personal best times in the 5K were MBU's
Ashley Bennett (43rd, 25:55.3) and
Anneka Burick (44th, 27:30.8).
In the men's race, juniors
Daniel Diaczyszyn and
Micah Ahearn-Wood worked together for most of the 6K course. Diaczyszyn crossed the finish line 67th out of 84 in 24:08.8 while Ahearn-Wood finished 71st in 24:43.7. Freshman Tagee Groomes was MBU's final competitor, placing 83rd overall in 29:57.3.
The Fighting Squirrels return to action Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Bridgewater Invitational, beginning at 10 a.m.
