Mary Baldwin men's and women's cross country competed Saturday at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational, with several Squirrels turning in standout performances and personal bests.
On the women's side, sophomore
Nicky Black paced the Squirrels in the 4K, finishing 14th out of 114 runners with a time of 15:44.9. Sophomores
Ashley Bennett (19:06.8) and
Anneka Burick (20:50.9) each posted new personal records, while freshman Yufei Qu completed her first collegiate race in 28:14.4.
The women placed 11th overall out of 14 teams.
For the men, junior
Daniel Diaczysn led the way in the 4K with a time of 14:53.4, nearly a minute and a half faster than his performance at the same meet last year.
Freshman
Tajee Groomes (16:06.4) and seniors
Brandon Jones (17:21.1) and
Tristen Bannasch (17:43.6) all recorded personal bests.
The men finished 13th out of 14.
