Mary Baldwin Welcomes Jenna McCaffrey to Athletic Training Staff

Director of Athletics Tom Byrnes has announced the hiring of Jenna McCaffrey as Athletic Trainer at Mary Baldwin University. McCaffrey will work with MBU Head Athletic Trainer Ismael Cortes.

McCaffrey comes to Mary Baldwin from James Madison University, where she earned her Master's Degree in Athletic Training. She served as a Student Athletic Trainer with the Dukes the past two years, providing coverage for practices and games at JMU, Bridgewater College, and nearby Broadway High School.

At JMU, she also worked with the Madison Athletic Training Students' Association, where she initiated and led social and volunteer events in an effort to promote athletic training as a profession. McCaffrey also spent six months during the 2021-22 school year making athletic training observations with The Covenant School in Charlottesville, Virginia.

As a student at Bridgewater, McCaffrey served as a campus recreation assistant and intramural referee. She was a McKinney ACE Scholarship and Honors Scholarship student, along with a Maxine Abshire Scholarship recipient.

McCaffrey graduated from Bridgewater in April 2023 with her Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science. She was a Dean's List honoree all eight semesters at Bridgewater.
