Box Score DEMOREST, Ga. – The Mary Baldwin University men's soccer team fell to Piedmont, 2-1, in overtime Walker Athletic Complex on Saturday.
The Fighting Squirrels now sit at 7-9 on the season with a 4-7 record in league play. Meanwhile, the Lions pull to 6-6-2 overall behind a 4-5-2 mark in conference matches.
Neither team found the back of the net in the first half with a total of just three shots
Brandon John broke the scoreless draw off a cross from Alejandro Aragon. Less than a minute later, Jose Linares scored on a penalty kick to tie the game. The draw held through the end of regulation to head to overtime.
In the 95th minute, Piedmont scored the game winner off a free kick from just outside the box by Linares that found the head of Ian Addison, 2-1.
Both teams tallied 12 shots, while the Lions posted five corner kicks.
The Fighting Squirrels return to action tomorrow, Oct. 20, as they travel to face Brevard.
