Box Score 2 STAUNTON VA. — A pair of strong performances by Methodist University led them to two wins over Mary Baldwin in Tuesday's doubleheader at John Moxie Stadium.
Methodist (11-13, 4-4 USA South) came out strong in game one, as they put up eight runs in the first inning, followed by another two in the second.
MBU (0-6, 0-2 USA South) scored both of its runs in the third after a pair of RBI singles from Kyle Measell and Jared Mayhew.
The Monarchs scored five more in the top half of the fourth for a 15-2 win.
In game two, Methodist put up a combined 13 runs in the first two innings before tacking on another seven in the following three.
Despite getting some runners on base, the Fighting Squirrels were unable to get their offense going as they fell 20-0.
Next up for Mary Baldwin is a weekend series against Willaim Peace. The teams will play one game Saturday at 2:00 and a doubleheader on Sunday starting at noon.
