Box Score 2 The Mary Baldwin baseball team fell in both games of a doubleheader against William Peace on Friday.
In the first game, William Peace (14-12, 6-4 USA South) came out strong putting up eight runs in the 1st inning.
MBU (0-8, 0-4 USA South) responded in the bottom half of the 1st when Tucker Hensley singled to score Michael Robertson.
The Pacers tacked on 16 more runs, as they won 24-1.
In game two, after the Pacers jumped out to an early lead, a single by Michael Robertson in the 3rd scored Colby Cheatham to make it 5-1.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 4th, Cheatham hit one off the very top of the wall in left-center field, coming up just short of grand slam but still scoring Chase Davis for an RBI single.
Another run by WPU in the 5th ended the game at 14-2.
The two teams will play again on Saturday as they close out the weekend series at noon.
