VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Mary Washington jumped out to a 21-8 lead after one quarter Saturday and the Eagles pulled away for an 84-43 victory over Mary Baldwin at the Towne-Bank Tip-Off Classic hosted by Virginia Wesleyan.

MBU found its offense in the second quarter, battling the Eagles on even terms to trail 37-23 at the half. Nary Washington pulled away in the second half to take the victory.

Mya' Coleman paced the Squirrels with 12 points and Gianna Gilmore added 10. Gilmore and Mekayla Clarker each pulled down six rebounds.

MBU, now 0-4, returns to action Sunday afternoon to meet the tournament host, Virginia Wesleyan.
