Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. - Washington and Lee broke open a close game with a big sixth inning Wednesday to defeat Mary Baldwin 15-3. W&L entered the bottom of the sixth lading 4-3 and then scored 11 runs to broke open the game.
Mary Baldwin took the lead with two runs in its first at bat. Michael Robertson led off the game with a double and Noah Kessler walked. MBU got on the board when Robertson scored on a single by Jared Mayhew. With runners at first and third, Kessler raced home on Dylan Rankin's infield grounder for a 2-0 Squirrels lead.
W&L tied the score with single runs in the second and fourth innings and then took a 4-2 lead with two runs in the fifth.
Mary Baldwin scored its final run in the seventh whem Robertson walked and came around to score on Kessler's double.
MBU is back in action this weekend when the Squirrels hist Mt. Aloysius for three games. The teams will play two seven-inning games at Saturday ane one nine-onning contest on Sunday.
