Lapatrick Bridges won one event and scored in another while
Nicole Black finished second twice to lead Mary Baldwin's contingent at the 2025 Eastern Mennonite University Heritage Invitational track & field meet Friday.
Bridges took top honors in the 400-meter dash (51.20), fourth in the 200 (23.04) and competed on the fourth-place 4x100 relay team (49.99).
Averi Harrod, also crossed the finish line just behind Bridges in both the 200 (5th, 23.29) and 400 (52.06) races and anchored the 4x100 relay team.
Black led the MBU women's team with second-place finishes in the 1,500-meter run (5:06.05) and the 5,000-meter run (19:17.30). In the throws,
Alma Gonzalez-Hayes finished fifth in the javelin with a personal best toss of 23.00m.
The Fighting Squirrels have one more meet - Saturday, April 19 at Randolph College - to prepare for the 2025 USA South Athletic Conference championship on April 25-26 in Charlotte, N.C.
