Zack Clark Named Men's Soccer Coach At MBU

Zach Clark, who has four years of experience as an NCAA Division III assistant coach at Randolph College, has been selected as the new head coach at Mary Baldwin University.

"Zack Clark has the experience and the exuberance we were hoping to find in our search for a new head coach," said MBU Director of Athletics Tom Byrnes.  "We're excited to have Zack join the MBU athletics team, and we believe he'll lead the men's soccer program to be very successful in the region and the USA South Athletic Conference."

A 2013 graduate of Liberty University, Clark coached for one season on the scholastic level and has been at Randolph since 2021.  He's also been a coach at a soccer academy in Lynchburg, Va., since 2019.

He takes over a Fighting Squirrels program that posted a 3-12-2 overall record in 2024, but advanced to the conference playoffs for the first time in six years with a 2-4-1 USA South record.  The team boasts a veteran lineup that is looking to improve its mark and finish higher in the conference standings.  MBU opens its season Friday, Aug. 29 at Staunton's SMA Worth Field against local rival Bridgewater (4:30 p.m.).
