Mary Baldwin senior catcher
Hadley May was named to the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region softball team after setting several individual records and leading the Fighting Squirrels to a team-record 22 wins this season.
May, a second-team All-Region VI honoree, was one of eight USA South Athletic Conference representatives selected for the team. She is the second MBU softball player to earn All-Region honors, joining 2017 second-team All-Region honoree Sam Bird.Â
May is also the second MBU student-athlete to earn All-Region recognition in 2024-25, joining freshman cross country runner Nicole Black on the honor's list.
Mary Baldwin's catcher and Designated Player the past four years, May hit .460 this season with 11 home runs, 10 doubles, 25 runs scored and a career-best 50 RBI. She drew a team-leading 31 walks and struck out only six times. During her career, May set the team records for home runs in a career (31) and season (12 in 2024), career total bases (322) and slugging percentage in a season (.892 in 2024) and career (.819).
During May's career, the Fighting Squirrels won 68 games, including a 59-53-1 overall record the past three seasons, and advanced to the USA South playoffs three consecutive years.
