Mary Baldwin track and field traveled to Eastern Mennonite University for the two-day EMU Invitational.
Sophomore
Jasmine Louis led the women with two personal records. In the 400 meters, Louis ran 1:15.31 to secure first place. She also competed in the 200 meters, posting a second PR of the day with a time of 31.50.
Sophomore
Nicky Black competed in two distance events, finishing in the top five in both. Black placed fourth in the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:39.68 and fourth in the 1500 meters in 5:17.55. Black's performance in the 1500 ranks in the top 10 in the USA South, according to TFRRS.
For the men, sophomore
LaPatrick Bridges recorded two top-10 finishes. He placed seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 23.21 before turning in his top performance in the 400-meter hurdles.
Bridges claimed third place in the event, running 59.47 to set a new Mary Baldwin record. His time also ranks fourth in the conference, according to TFRRS.
Bridges was joined in the 400-meter hurdles by freshman
Tajee Groomes, who ran 1:05.66. Groomes also competed in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
Junior
Daniel Diaczyszyn competed in the 1500 meters, finishing in 4:59.49.
In field events, senior
Brandon Jones recorded throws of 22.10 meters in the hammer and 27.50 meters in the discus. His discus mark ranks in the top 20 in the conference. Jones also competed in the shot put, finishing just outside the top 10 with a throw of 10.62 meters.
Three Fighting Squirrels competed in the men's javelin. Senior
David Shultz led the group with a sixth-place finish and a throw of 38.72 meters, ranking among the top 15 in the conference this season, according to TFRRS. Senior
Tristen Bannasch placed 12th with a throw of 33.14 meters, while senior
Omarion Lacroix finished 14th at 28.24 meters.
Sophomore
Kadin Pittman was the lone jumper for Mary Baldwin, placing third in the triple jump with a mark of 12.60 meters and finishing in the top 10 in the long jump at 5.58 meters.
