Randolph Sweeps Mary Baldwin in Doubleheader

Lynchburg, VA - Mary Baldwin College fell to 3-2 this afternoon after losing two non-conference games to Randolph 0-8 in both games.

The Wilcats held Mary Baldwin College to just 5 hits on the day as they inproved their home record to 10-0 this season.

In the opener, the Wildcats jumped out to a 2-0 start at the bottom of the first inning on a two-run homer from Gina Pagano.  Randolph added one more in the third to take a 3-0 lead.  The home team added 2 unearned runs in the bottom of the 5th to take a 5-0 lead.  Three more runs in the bottom of the 6th gave the Wildcats their 9th straight win at home.  

Jessica Hogle took the mound for the Fighting Squirrels.  She gave up 8 runs, 6 earned runs, 2 walks, and 1 homerun.  MBC finished with 2 errors while Randolph committed 1.  Randolph finished with 9 hits while MBC had 3.

In the second contest, Randoph jumped ahead with 4 runs in the bottom of the second inning and added 3 more in the third to roll to another 8-0 win in just 5 innings.  

Amanda Miller took the mound for Mary Baldwin in the second game giving up 8 runs, 6 earned runs, 2 walks, and 1 homerun.

Mary Baldwin will be back in action Sunday afternoon when they travel to Guilford.
