Box Score 2 STAUNTON, VA - Mary Baldwin College softball dropped their
record to 0-11 in the USA South this afternoon losing both ends of
the doubleheader.
In the first game, Ferrum College (23-7, 7-3 USA South) got 5 of
their 7 runs in the 3rd inning. Kaitlyn Culler started
the Panthers off with a base hit. Then an error by MBC put
Rachel Shumaker on first. Hannah Shumaker, Karly Thompson,
and Chloe Brzycki all added base hits to give Ferrum the 5-0
lead.
Mary Baldwin's bats were quiet throughout the game.
Ferrum added two more runs in the 6th inning to take
Game One 7-0.
In Game 2, Ferrum took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning then added 3
additional runs in the 5th on their way to a 6-1 victory.
Freshman LaToya Diggs scored MBC's only run of the afternoon in
the bottom of the 6th inning. She was driven home by former
Waynesboro High School teammate Jonquil Brown.
Mary Baldwin will host Meredith College this Saturday and
celebrate Senior Day. Time is currently scheduled for 2:00pm
