Softball Loses Makeup Game at Averett

Box Score

DANVILLE, VA - The Mary Baldwin College softball team traveled to Danville this afternoon for a makeup game with Averett University that was halted earlier in the season due to the weather.

Both teams were held scoreless in the first two innings.  In the 3rd, two errors by Mary Baldwin helped Averett take a 5-0 lead.  The Cougars doubled their score in the 4th inning to take a commanding lead.

Both of Mary Baldwin's runs came in the top of the 5th inning when Freshman Jonquil Brown hit a double into left field bringing home both Freshman LaToya Diggs and Senior Amanda Miller.

Averett then stopped the Fighting Squirrels striking out two of the final three batters.  Averett improves their record to 13-17 while Mary Baldwin drops to 5-19.

MBC will be back in action Saturday at home at 2:00pm.  They will celebrate Senior Day.
