Freshman Jonquil Brown was named to the USA South All-Conference Honorable Mention team for the 2012 season.

Brown currently holds a batting average of .367.  She has 36 hits to date and 14 runs.  Brown also has 18 rbi's.  Her slg% is .480 with 6 doubles, 1 triple, and 1 home run.  Defensively, she has 215 put outs with only 2 errors giving her a .991 fielding %.

"We are extremely proud of Jonquil in getting this all-conference award.  She has been an instrumental part of our team this year - both offensively and defensively," stated Head Coach Christy Shelton.  "Being a freshman, I'm not sure Jonquil really knew what to expect from college softball much less USA South softball.  But, she showed she can compete with the best.  We look forward to seeing what the future holds for her as a player."
