Box Score 2 SWEET BRIAR, VA - The Mary Baldwin College Softball Team took
two wins this afternoon from Sweet Briar College. Both games
ended after five innings with Mary Baldwin winning the first game
10-2 and 17-3 in the second.
In the first game, Freshman Jonquil Brown went 2 for 3 scoring
two runs while Sophomore Rebecca Parramore finished 1 for 2 also
scoring 2 runs. Freshman Virginia Griffin also added 2 runs
finishing 2 for 4 at the plate.
The Fighting Squirrels scored 6 runs in the top of the second
inning, added 1 in the third, and three more in the 4th on their
way to the 10-2 rout.
MBC's bats stayed hot in Game 2 led by Junior Kelsey Still who
finished 2 for 4 with 4 runs, one double, one home run, and 6
RBI's.
Senior Sabrina Desper added three hits, one home run, and four
RBI's in the five innings.
The wins improve Mary Baldwin's record to 8-28 (0-18 USAS.)
They host Mary Washington Wednesday afternoon in their final
regular season double header. Friday morning they play in the
first round of the USA South Conference tournament in Burlington,
NC.
