After both teams were held scoreless in the first inning, Greensboro College took a 2-0 lead when Sarah Connolly hit a two run shot into left field in the second inning.  The Pride added another run in the fourth inning  then took a commanding 7-0 lead in the fifth inning when they added four additional runs.  Greensboro ended the game in the sixth inning on a walk-off single down the left field line.

On Sunday, Guilford College (9-1 overall) swept Mary Baldwin College (0-10, 0-2 USAS).  The Quakers won the first game, 12-3 in six innings, while winning the five-inning nightcap, 15-0.

In game one, the Fighting Squirrels again took the early 1-0 lead in the top of the second after both teams were held scoreless in the first inning.  Pitcher Jessica Hogle hit a double into left center field then scored off of an error by the home team.

Guilford came roaring back scoring five runs in the bottom of the second inning.

Mary Baldwin added two more runs at the top of the third when Jonquil Brown singled to left field. Rebecca Parramore followed with a single to center field advancing Brown to second base.  Pitcher Jessica Hogel then added another single advancing the runners.  A walk scored Brown.  Sara Seekins then brought Parramore home off of her single.  The rally ended when Griffin struck out swinging.

Those runs proved to be all that Guilford allowed as they held a 7-3 lead at the bottom of the fourth inning.

After both teams were held scoreless in the fifth inning, Guilford ended the game scoring 5 runs in the sixth inning taking the 12-3 win.

Game two proved to be all Guilford as they easily won the nightcap 15-0.
