Big Innings Too Much For MBU Softball To Overcome

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - One big inning in each game proved to be the difference in Tuesday's doubleheader as Bridgewater College swept Mary Baldwin 10-2 and 6-0 in non-conference softball action.

In the opener, Bridgewater took advantage of two MBU errors to score seven runs in the bottom of the first inning of the 10-2 victory that ended after six innings. Four of the first-inning runs were unearned.

Emily Hall was 3-for-3 in Game 1 while Hadley May and Allison Crum each drove in one run.

Game 2 was tied 0-0 after two innings, but the Eagles scored five runs in the third inning to take control in the 6-0 victory.

Mary Baldwin was limited to just three hits in the second game, two by Crum. Crum was 3-for-6 in the two games.

The Fighting Squirrels are now 5-8-1 on the season.
