Box Score 2 GREENSBORO, N.C. - Mary Baldwin faced Greensboro College Tuesday afternoon, losing the first game 9-4 and the second 8-0.
In the first game, Mary Baldwin started off behind as they gave up two runs in the first before scoring their first run in the second. Allison Crum ked off the inning with a singles and moved into scoring position on a Greensboro error. Crum scored on Reagan Frazier's groundout.
The Pride scored two more runs in the bottom of the second inning to make it a 4-1 ballgame, but the Squirrels continued to battle, scoring a run in the fifth Paige Fixi walked, stole second and moved to third on a sac bunt. Fix scored on Trinity Thomas' groundout to cut the deficit to 4-1.
Greensboro responded with four more runs in the bottom of the fifth to expand its before MBU tallied twice in the top of the sixth.Crum singled and Sam Grims;ey was hit by a pitch to get the inning started. Crum scored on an error and Grimsley scored on a hit by Molly Thompson.
The second game was a scoreless pitching duel until the fourth when Greensboro took controll with a seven-run inning.
For the Squirrels, Crum went 4-for-6 on the day with a double.
Mary Baldwin is back in action Friday (March 31) when the Squirrels host Brevard College for a doubleheader.
