In the opener, the Squirrels pushed across single runs in the fourth and sixth innings to edge Elmira 2-0. Molly Thompson went the distance on the mound, holding Elmira to just two hits. She walked six and struck out five.
Emily McCreery pitched a three-hit shutout in the second game to lead MBU to the 8-0 victory over LaGrange.
MBU snapped a scoreless tie in the sixth when Emily Hall reached on an error and Hadley May followed with a homer for a 2-0 lead.
The Squirrels added four more runs in the top of the seventh to put the game away. Trinity Thomas and Leanna Rankin reached on singles on both socred on Olivia Gagne's triple for a 4-0 MBU lead. Haley Roberts followed with a pinch-hit two-run homer for the final 6-0 margin.
MBU is back in action Wednesday when the Squirrels travel to Randolph College for a non-conference doubleheader.
